We invite you to attend the WDCA Washington Dulles Cargo Association Luncheon at Dulles Airport on August 23rd. The new Director Field Operations for CBP based in Baltimore is DFO Casey Owen Durst and she will be our guest speaker, providing an update on ACE and other CBP items.

Casey Owen Durst is the Director, Field Operations at the Baltimore Field Office.

In this position, she is responsible for all aspects of Field operations in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and northern Virginia. The Port of Baltimore ranks number one in imports of automobiles and roll-on and roll-off cargo. In addition, the Port of Baltimore has robust year-round cruise operations. The Port of Wilmington is among the highest in the nation for fresh fruit imports, and the airports of Washington-Dulles and Philadelphia serve as the hub for two major U.S. airline carriers.

She previously served as the Area Port Director of St. Albans, Vermont with command of 18 Ports and Stations in Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as the Trusted Traveler Vetting Center in Williston, Vermont.

Prior to her position as Area Port Director, she served as the Director, Field Programs, Office of Field Operations in Washington, DC. Ms. Durst has also served many temporary assignments including Acting Assistant Director, Trade Operations in El Paso, Texas, where she was responsible for commercial operations within the El Paso Field Office and focused resources on the Priority Trade Issues. In 2014, Ms. Durst was temporarily assigned to CBP Headquarters to lead the Integrated Planning Team for the additional 2,000 officers granted to CBP by the FY14 Omnibus Appropriations Act. In early 2015, Ms. Durst was assigned to CBP Headquarters to assist with the stand-up of the National Frontline Hiring Team where she developed strategies to address frontline hiring issues Agency-wide.

Ms. Durst is in her 18th year of public service and began her career with the U.S. Customs Service as an Inspector at Washington Dulles International Airport and was assigned to trade and passenger operations, international mail processing, and Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures. Ms. Durst was also a Program Manager at CBP Headquarters where she was assigned to the Situation Room for the Office of the Commissioner as well as serving a variety of assignments in Operations and Financial Management within the Office of Field Operations.
