Event description

Description

PBS, Edcamp, WCTE, and the Putnam County School System are partnering to build rich teacher communities by providing a time for educators to hold conversations, network and broaden their personal learning networks. At the center of this partnership is a shared belief that teachers are the heart of the learning ecosystem and deserve focused allies who can help them enhance their craft.

Sessions are participant-driven, encouraging sharing and collaboration among everyone who comes to the session, whether it a few people or a large group. Teachers share their best practices, their challenges and their passions, each listening for key information to enhance their personlized professional development. There is no single expert in the room! Participants are empowered to have voice and choice at Edcamp and encouraged to subscribe to the "Rule of Two Feet," staying for sessions that meet their needs and politely leaving ones that do not.

Edcamps are free, participatory events organized by educators for educators. Attendees collaboratively determine the schedule of sessions on the morning of the event.

Most sessions are informal conversations or demonstrations. It's common for many different people to take the floor during an event to share an idea, show student work on their laptop, or ask questions.
