About this event
WBEZ is proud to partner with Harmonica Dunn and Suburban Unity Alliance for the first annual Food Aid Festival, a two-day musical celebration addressing food insecurity in Chicago’s Westside communities and neighboring suburbs.
Food Aid’s mission is to eliminate individuals and their families from experiencing hunger. We believe that food insecurity should not exist, as the right to food is a human right. Through music and entertainment, Food Aid will serve as an important funding source for interconnected community organizations and initiatives aimed at addressing food insecurity.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Oak Park Community Fridge, Beyond Hunger, and Westchester Food Pantry. This event is open to all-ages
Day 1 will take place at the Kehrein Center for the Arts in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Artists include: The O’My’s, the 2019 Youth Poet Laureate Kara Jackson, and Cheryl Tomblin.
Join us as we work to eliminate food insecurity through the power of music. More information at www.foodaidfestival.com
