Community Champion:

Elizabeth Lindau

Organization Mission:

The block club is home to several hundred households, a community college, a Buddhist Temple, a social service center, and a dozen businesses

Project Type:

Environmental

Project Description:

Last summer the community created a new garden at the Uptown Post Office to beautify this community space and turn a concrete and weed-filled area into gardens filled with shrubs, flowers, and grasses. In order to stay beautiful, the garden could use mulch to keep down weeds and hold in moisture. A small selection of annual plants will also be added in key spots.
