Event description

Description

Calling all artists, writers, programmers, researchers, and caring individuals, WE have designed a great opportunity for you to team up with other students to create a game that raises awareness of an important social issue chosen by you while you play.

This interactive, hands-on workshop will be conducted by Stacy Read who is a Web and Software Instructor at Waukesha County Technical College where she teaches beginning and advanced courses in Java and JavaScript. In her free time, she enjoys making video games using Unity and playing them on Nintendo Switch.

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Research a chosen topic of interest

  • Design a board, card, or video game focused on building awareness

  • Develop a website and marketing materials for the game

  • Present their game idea to other participants

  • Build their personal knowledge of their chosen topic

  • Change the world!

No technology experience is required. Bring a laptop or Chromebook; all other materials will be provided.

Register at www.watg.org by Friday. September 20, 2019
