Description
Free Workshop for San Francisco Educators: Watershed Teaching Tools. Everyone working with students in San Francisco is welcome; teachers, aides, after school staff, garden coordinators, youth group leaders, and parent volunteers.
A fun, hands-on workshop with dynamic science investigation, language arts, and games, packaged as ready-to-go student lessons tied to the Common Core Curriculum.
- Morning session: Human impacts on our watersheds and pollution prevention from schools to the bay or ocean; lessons for the classroom, garden or school yard.
- Afternoon session: Reducing runoff strategies, rainwater harvesting and rain garden design.
- Bonus: Rainwater Resource Fair at noon, and tour of the rainwater harvesting system in the Mission High garden. Fair and tour open to the public as well as educators.
- Take home a complete electronic curriculum plus extra goodies!
- Free organic lunch for full-day participants.
