Watercolour Painting for Beginners

Do you feel you want to slow down, take some time for yourself and learn something new? Have you already started painting in watercolours, and are looking for more instruction and guidance? Maybe my Watercolour Workshop is just what you need!

You don’t need any painting or drawing experience – just a willingness to ‘let go’, make marks on your paper, experiment and be creative. So, come along for a wonderful morning of fun, relaxation and mindfulness.

This Watercolour Workshop for Beginners will be at the beautiful Fisherton Mill in Salisbury. All painting materials will be provided for the workshop. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes are available to order from the Fisherton Mill Gallery Café during the workshop, and there is a generous 20% discount available on the excellent lunch menu, should you wish to stay for lunch.

A little bit about me

Many members of my family have enjoyed creative pursuits. For my granny it was oil painting, for my grandpa it was woodwork and sculpture. My dad loved to draw and paint and my mum had endless projects on the go from sewing and knitting, to embroidery and rug making, from patchwork quilting to upholstery. Growing up, I tried many things and I loved learning new skills.

There followed a wonderful career in teaching, six years in the UK and thirty three years overseas, the vast majority of which was in Singapore. Now retired, I have returned to England and settled in Salisbury.

Three years ago, I began to paint with watercolours and I was smitten from the very start. Self-taught, I've sold paintings and cards at craft fairs, painted many one-off commissions for wedding presents and gifts, and opened my Etsy Shop.

Now I hope to inspire others to embrace their creative side and enjoy the wonderful world of watercolour!
