Event description

Description

Workshop details: Learn simple techniques to achieve various effects in watercolour and provide a basis for further exploration in an informal setting. Painting small works in a single layer with a water colour palette – the most convenient and economical of painting mediums – this is the perfect starting point for both beginners and seasoned artists looking to try a new medium. Workshop participants will complete a series of simple painting exercises to familiarise themselves with their materials before applying these techniques to render a selection of still-life subjects.

What You’ll Get:

  • A watercolour paint palette and brush (paper will be provided on the day)

  • 1-2 small finished works (and a lot of practice pieces)

  • All the skills necessary to continue practicing and experimenting with your new medium at home!

  • Tea, coffee and cake (YUM!)

About the maker: Doris Chang is an Adelaide-based Illustrator, Designer, Writer and Letterer with a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication. Working by hand in watercolour and ink, she has a penchant for whimsical animal characters, hand-generated type, wordplay and visual pun. The younger of two daughters, she also has an independent range of greeting cards, printed artwork and other products that she designs and distributes under the label Little Sister Co., available on Etsy.
