Watchlist: Will Attending this Session Put Me on a Professor Watchlist? Navigating Classroom Political Discourse in the Era of Charged Social Media
Facilitated by Andrew Lotz of the Political Science Department.
This academic year (2016–17) has been designated as The Year of Diversity by the Provost, giving the topics of diversity, inclusion, and understanding a special emphasis at the University of Pittsburgh. The Office of the Provost has initiated a special partnership with the University Center for Teaching and Learning to offer many professional and personal development opportunities throughout the year with a special focus on understanding the intersection of various identities within the student experience. We hope this particular series will give faculty a chance to hear what our students have to say about this important topic and to reflect on what it means for their teaching practice. These events are open to all faculty and Teaching Assistants.
