For decades, the existence of aliens has been dismissed as nothing more than a paranoid conspiracy theory; tales of saucer sightings, abductions, crop circles, and cattle mutilations have been laughed off as elaborate pranks or delusions. The general public, distracted by Earthly concerns, remain convinced that humanity stands alone in the universe.
As the old saying goes, you’re only paranoid if you’re wrong.
While the public toils away in their daily lives, blissfully unaware of the vast scope of the universe, the governments of the world secretly prepare for first (maybe even second) contact with extraterrestrial entities, and not without reason: the arrival of aliens marks a crucial moment in humanity’s long struggle for survival - our twilight hour, the tipping point that will decide our fate for years to come.
Until now, you have spent your life in leisurely inaction, but the time has come for vigilance. Whether political leader, CEO, or journalist, you have been called upon to guide humanity through these troubled times - plan for the worst, hope for the best, and watch the skies.
Watch the Skies is a megagame that brings together 64 players for a 6 hour megagame event. Players will represent the upper echelon of Earth governments, media conglomerates, corporate officers, and alien visitors.
The game will last approximately 6 hours, with a brief intermission for lunch (included in ticket price) and a short period at the end for Control to put together a post-game debrief, wherein we collectively determine just how ruined the world has become.
WTS is a game of imperfect information, negotiation, collaborative storytelling and decision-making; depending on your role, it can involve a great deal of social interaction and movement across a large event space. While we do take steps to accommodate our disabled and neurodivergent players, the aforementioned factors are essential to the game experience, and as such, we ask that you consider them if you wish to attend. If you are unsure about your ability to fully interact with the game, please send us an email and we can help you decide if this is the right game for you.
Can my friends and I sign up as a team?
Yes! That's widely known as the best way to enjoy a megagame, after all. There will be a spot in the checkout where you can tell us your team name and choose a nation if you'd like. However, please be aware that groups larger than 5 may not always be assigned to the same team. If you are in a 6+ person group, we ask that you remain flexible as we are not always able to place large groups together.
I've played Watch the Skies before. What's different?
We have a new Game Control, a new alien plotline and ruleset, a new player role, and more!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Megagames are fun for all ages, but often times the humor and references involved fly over the heads of younger megagamers. We recommend that you be at least 18 years old to attend WTS.
What can I bring into the event?
Will lunch be provided?
Lunch is provided, but we encourage players to bring a snack or something to eat as they go. Seven hours is a long time and the provided lunch, while adequate for most, may not satisfy all players, especially those who are hypoglycemic or have other conditions.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please email us with any questions! We try to get back to you within 24 hours. When we're in production for a games, the Head Designer usually answers emails in a digest format each evening.
What's the refund policy?
Up to 2 weeks before the game, we will gladly provide a full refund. After that point, all sales are final as we need to determine teams and send out player briefings at that point.
