Watch Moths (to a Flame!) : National Insect Week
Location
Online event
A series of online events exploring and understanding the world of moths in Devon, and an introduction to the Moths to a Flame project.
About this event
This event ticket includes a one hour evening session (8pm to 9pm on Friday 26th), followed by an hour in the morning (8am - 9am on Saturday 27th). We would encourage you to come to both if you can. It is an online event through Zoom, so you only need one ticket per device (i.e. a family watching through one laptop only need to book one ticket!).
This is the first of a series of online events, called ‘Watch Moths’ and will be an opportunity to explore and understand the world of moths in Devon a little better. We will all be learning with moth experts from Devon Moth Group, Devon Wildlife Trust, Ambios and others during the year. Together we will be finding out how moths are amazing and beautiful creatures and, with humans, are attracted to a glow and a twinkle.
Our family friendly, experts and novices, everyone welcome, events will run June until October. Each Watch Moths via zoom will be set up for an hour in the evening as the light starts dimming, and then reconvene for an hour in the morning to reveal what we have found.
Watch Moths (to a Flame!) – National Insect Week
Friday 26th at 8pm and Saturday 27th June at 8am
As part of National Insect Week we start our series with four moth explorers across Devon. We will also be introducing you to our Moths to a Flame project. This month our Moth-ers include Simon Bates from Exeter, John Walters near Dartmoor, Amy Walkden in Torbay and Art and Energy’s Chloe Uden and family in Exeter. Other moth-er visitors will help us identify and get to know the moths we see.
