Event description

Description

Winner of the Judge's and the People's Prizes at our Spring Open Exhibition, this is the opening night of Kelly Ann Holmes first solo exhibition. With music by DJ Matt Wolfe, street food and complimentary drinks, this will be a night to remember.

Kelly is a self-taught mixed media artist specialising in the use of recycled drinks cans. She is a homegrown Nottingham girl and draws a huge amount of inspiration from the incredibly vibrant creative scene that the city has to offer. At frist glance this exhibition could be taken simply as an exercise in portraiture based around the famous and glamorous. However, scratching a little below the surface uncovers an exploration of mental health and subsequent addiction.

All work is for sale and a quarter of the takings from sales made on the opening night will be donated to set up a new fund to support locat Art and Mental Health projects. People and organisations running such projects will be able to pitch for money from the fund at a special THiNK/Nottingham Soup event to be held during Nottingham Mental Health Awareness week. Details available at the Opening Night.party.

The exhibition continues until 17th September and is open to the public for viewing Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-4pm.

If you would like to hold your meeting or event while the exhibition is on, email hello@thinkinng.org for details.
