Event description

Description

For generations, the leaders of New York City have struggled to find a solution, evolving from dumping trash into the ocean to today's sophisticated waste management system. Despite the many advancements in waste management, much of the reclaimable waste generated in New York City continues to end up in landfills. Every year, New Yorkers throw away about 14 million tons of waste, generating 1.66 million metric tons of greenhouse gases.

Some social entrepreneurs saw the financial opportunities in the waste management industry. They found ways to reduce the waste that goes to landfills while harnessing its values.

This December 7th, join Resuing Leftover Cuisine and our panel of female social entrepreneurs to discuss their journey and vision for the future of waste management. Our panel includes:

  • Meredith Danberg-Firacelli from Common Ground Compost
  • Shien-ru Tsao from Commit To Green
  • Amanda Weeks from Industrial/Organic

Dinner from &pizza and drinks included.

Program:

  • 7:00pm - Panel Discussion
  • 7:45pm - Q&A
  • 8:00pm - Socializing & Networking
  • 9:00pm - Event Ends

If you have any question, please email info@rescuingleftovercuisine.org.
