Join Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary for a WCS Volunteer Training Session on January 20, 2018. All who want to be involved in any part of doing sanctuary are encouraged to attend.  The program will include an update on the state of congregational sanctuary in Washtenaw County, legal/safety information and logistics, as well as an ally and cultural competency training. As we prepare for the potential of hosting it is essential that our community is poised and as ready as possible. Special thanks to one of our member congregations, Church of the Good Shepherd, for hosting our coalition training.

Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary

Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary (WCS) is an interfaith coalition of congregations, and unaffiliated individuals, throughout Washtenaw County who have joined together to support immigrants and their families in our community.  Led by the Interfaith Council for Peace & Justice (ICPJ) and the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights (WICIR), WCS formed in response to intensified and increasingly unjust activities of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in our community.

For more information about how to get involved and/or to inquire about hosting an information presentation for your community contact jane@icpj.org and check out www.facebook.com/WashtenawCongregationalSanctuary
