About this event
Join us for a free casual exploration of this Frederick Law Olmsted gem before enjoying some music at the gorgeous 1938 Emil Blatz Temple of Music as part of Washington Park Wednesdays.
Join Virginia Small, journalist and landscape historian, on a mini-tour focused on Washington Park's history and design by Olmsted in the 1890s. After the tour, stay for Washington Park Wednesdays and enjoy free music in the park with numerous food trucks offering wide-ranging fare. These free community events exemplify Olmsted's commitment to "parks for all people."
Park either in the lot behind the bandshell or along the boulevard in the park. Meet by the ramp west side of the stage.
Virginia Small is an award-winning independent journalist who writes about parks and other landscapes, urbanism, and historic preservation issues, and environmental topics. She conducts tours of historic landscapes and has presented lectures about landscape history at state and local conferences.
