As we remember how our country was founded on Independence Day weekend, we will amplify our message of unity with the talents of musicians of immigrant-descent.

Festival Lineup

(Subject to Change)

tabi Bonney

tabi Bonney is a #TidalRising star out of Washington DC by way of the African nation of Togo. He has made a career of doing what others won’t or can’t. His anthemic tracks are known best for unusual cadences and pitch-bending inflections. His drive and talent are unparalleled—earning him regular video rotation on MTV and national radio play with previous hit singles “Nuthin’ But A Hero” and “The Pocket,” all without an official record label or distribution deal.

Chief Obi

Chief Obi is an musician, event host, actor, entertainer and more! You have likely seen some of his wildly popular content on Instagram or heard his recent singles with a nice Afrobeats vibe. He’s always big upping his Nigerian roots, so don’t miss the vibes and come out Saturday, July 6th!

Martha Afework

Martha Afework has had some insane success recently! Whether it’s getting love and support from soul queen India.Arie to performing her first headlining show at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, it’s safe to say that Martha is making a quick rise in the R&B world.

La Colombopercutiva

You. Will. Dance. This Colombian band, formed in Washington DC, does not play around. If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing this band perform at their Cumbia in Motion events, you will know that their danceable music comes with a heavy side of humanitarian messaging in favor of immigrants. We’ve burned holes in our soles, so again, be warned..You. Will. Dance.

Layla Khepri

Performing live on CBS, being featured on WPGC 95.5, and racking up tens of THOUSANDS of views on Youtube, Layla Khepri is a force! With roots in DC by way of the Philippines, Layla has taken her high energy performances all over the country, garnering her “Best Live Performance” from the Underground Music Awards and “Best New Artist” from the International Music Conference.

DJ CYD

It’s hard to put DJ CYD in a box, as there is much at the heart of what she does. As a refugee from the Vietnam War, DJ CYD lifts as she rises by giving back to charities and nonprofits, such as the International Rescue Committee. She has performed alongside artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Montell Jordan, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Beck and many more.

DJ George Tsakiris

DJ George Tsakiris is no stranger to DC nightlife. You’ve likely seen him on the decks setting vibes, even at Echostage where he has opened for huge DJs such as David Guetta. Of Greek origin, he’s played at events supporting immigrants, so adding him to the lineup was a no-brainer.

Yannis

All we saw was sweat and literal dance competitions break out at a recent Yannis show. A part of the Lucid Project crew, Yannis is a Somali-American DJ who’s been making the rounds at local DC and MD venues. He’ll be warming things up when the doors open and you’ll also be able to catch him filling in between sets.
