Event description

Description

This event is being organized by The Paradigm Project, a grassroots change initiative focused on multiplying and nurturing the seeds of excellence in Jewish early childhood education; and the National Jewish Early Childhood Network (NJECN), a longtime convener of the field that pops up professional learning encounters the week of the NAEYC conference.

A Study Tour for Early Childhood Educators

Join fellow educators for an exciting evening of exploration at one of the country's most avant-garde Jewish early childhood centers. We will be joined by educators participating in the annual conference of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Organization of The Evening:

6:30-9:30pm – Tour the school with administration and faculty. Visit classrooms and commons spaces while one of the administrators shares information about the school’s history, philosophy, and context. An experiential learning opportunity and dinner will conclude the evening.

We are going to dig into the idea of Taking Action together, from Jewish and other perspectives. Whether yours is a desire to make a change in your school/classroom, a social action concern, or advocacy for the field of Jewish early childhood education, our hope is that you will leave ready to TAKE ACTION.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear inspiring stories and share personal triumphs and struggles as we work toward making our world a kinder and more peaceful place.

OPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY (Walter E. Washington Convention Center)

3:30-5:30 – Sit with other NJECN/Paradigm Shifters at NAEYC's (registration required) keynote address: Reflecting on the Legacy of Fred Rogers through the 2018 Documentary, Won't You Be My Neighbor
