The WASC Public Hearing on Accreditation Redesign will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica Hotel.
The purpose of the hearing is to allow the Commission’s constituents and members of the public to provide comments about the accreditation redesign proposals directly to the Commission, orally or in writing. These comments will become part of the formal record and will inform the Commission’s final action on the redesign.
Written comments: The Commission welcomes written comments on the accreditation redesign. Written comments can be posted publically on the WASC website at (add URL) or can be submitted directly via email to Jessica Worchel, Accreditation Redesign Project Manager, at email@example.com. Written comments must be received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26. Please list “Written Comment for Commission Public Hearing” in the subject line of the email. All comments received by this date will be distributed to the Commission for their review prior to the November 3rd meeting. Please note that no written materials will be accepted for review after October 26 and no written comments will be accepted on site at the Public Hearing.
Oral comments: The Commission likewise welcomes oral comments from the public in regard to the accreditation redesign proposals. Oral presentations will take place at the date and time noted above.On a space-available basis, individuals/groups will be granted an opportunity to speak to the Commission for up to five minutes each. Time will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a minimum of twenty time slots available. Those requesting to make an oral presentation should fill out this survey by October 26.
Those who do not pre-register to speak may sign up on site at the Public Hearing for an opportunity to make an oral comment. If time permits following pre-registered comments, individuals or groups who sign up on November 3 will be invited to comment on a first-come, first-served basis, for up to three minutes.
