Event description
The Piedmont Fat Tire Society and Cat 5 Collective are teaming for this year's fall camping retreat!

About this Event

Please accept this event to help us plan on numbers.

Cat 5 Collective is a local MTB group who hosts Sunday rides in the triad. They're known for having fun, including riders of all skill levels, and mainly...shenanigans!

RIDES:

Friday @4: Dealer's choice

Saturday @10: Warrior Creek +

AND bonus XXC option @8:30: Dark Mtn + OVT + Warrior

Sunday: @10 TBD

**All rides starting from Warrior Creek Campground Group Camp Site

TRAILS:

Kerr Scott Reservoir - Home of the nationally-recognized, rollercoaster-like, sick single-track trail...Warrior Creek! Located on the south side of W. Kerr Scott Reservoir in western North Carolina. Constructed in the beautiful Yadkin River Valley, the lake offers extensive opportunities for outdoor recreational activities.

This is an epic place to ride, so we guarantee you'll love it. Some of these trails are also beginner-friendly.

Ride plans are “play it by ear," but we're planning on riding Friday afternoon, and Sat/Sun mornings.

CAMPING:

Warrior Creek Campground

Address: 7659 NC-268, Boomer, NC 28606

We've reserved a group campsite A for everyone to hang out. It holds 50 people. If that fills up, there are other sites in the campground.

Site features:

Close access to many awesome XC trails

Fresh-water reservoir, which we can swim in!

Picnic Shelters - with a few electrical outlets

Bathhouses, with warm showers (oh yes)

There are also pit toilets and water onsite

COST:

This time around, we're not charging you a dime! However, we'd really appreciate your membership. This is the best way for you to support your local trails. Sign up today, at https://www.imba.com/join/chapter/pfts

FOOD:

Plan to cook on your own. There are several restaurants within 10 minutes of the campsite if you do not feel like cooking. There's a killer taco joint, just up the road from the site.

Please avoid bringing glass containers if possible. There are animals in the forest and we don't want them coming into camp. Please store all food in the metal locker or in your car.

OTHER STUFF:

We all came to ride bikes and enjoy the trails! Please do your best to be ready by the stated start times. The ride leaders will start yelling and giving dirty looks to make sure we get out on the trails in a timely manner.

If it rains, we may head over to Boone or Lake Norman. If you aren't camping with us the night before a ride, be at the campsite ready to ride by 10:00am.

See you all there!
