Warren Miller and the Ski Club of Washington, DC (SCWDC) present

Here, There & Everywhere

Sunday, November 13, 2016

at 12 noon, 3 pm & 6 pm

It’s been 67 years since ski-film pioneer Warren Miller picked up a camera to capture the wonder, the adventure, the humor and the beauty that is skiing. Since that time, Warren Miller film crews have traveled the globe—from storied slopes to hidden, snow-covered corners—to celebrate all things snowsports. Their quest has taken powder-hungry filmgoers, well, Here, There & Everywhere—and this year continues that legacy.

It starts with Here. Because that’s what every snow adventure is ultimately about: being really here—in the moment. In this 67th annual Warren Miller film, here is a freeski adventure with Ingrid Backstrom and Wendy Fisher in Crested Butte. It’s a powder day with the ski patrol for Kaylin Richardson, Matt Elliott and Marcus Caston in Kicking Horse, B.C. And it’s every other stunning locale the film takes you, from the steeps of Squaw Valley to the big air at Fenway Park (yes, that Fenway Park).

The film also journeys There, that place we dream about whenever we’re not in the mountains. It sweeps across the expanses of Alaska, between the backcountry yurts of Montana’s Glacier Country, and down the slopes of Deer Valley as we pay homage to the great Stein Eriksen. It spurs us toward adventure, toward the undeniable turns we’ll take this year, as soon as the snow begins to fall.

And before we know it, we’ve been Everywhere—crossing Greenland by dog sled with Rob Kingwill and Seth Wescott, and following Jess McMillan and Grete Eliassen on a Swiss holiday aboard the Glacier Express. All along the way, Warren Miller himself spins tales as only Warren can do, reminding us that through the years, Warren Miller films have truly taken audiences Here, There & Everywhere.

FAQs

Q1: What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

A1: On Sunday, the day of the event, free no meter parking is available on the street in the Penn Quarter district. Because of the close proximity to the Mall, street parking may be limited for the 12 pm and 3 pm show. This should not be an issue for the 6 pm show. There are several commercial parking lots within a few blocks of the theater. The theater is conveniently located just steps from the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro Station (Green, Yellow), and a short walking distance from the Federal Triangle Metro Station (Blue, Orange) or the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station (Green, Red, Yellow).

Q2: Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

A2: No ID required. As for an age limit, the movie is not intended for young children. The movie can be noisy, loud in certain segments. Crying babies and bored, noisy, fidgety children make it uncomfortable for other theater goers. It is also poor theater etiquette. Therefore, no children under 5 allowed. Small children must be accompanied by an adult and have their own seats and e-tickets.

Q3: Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

A3: Email organizer at captain.ken@email4u.com

Q4: Is my registration/ticket transferable?

A4: All that is required for entry is the e-Ticket scan code, either in print or on a smartphone. Once the e-Ticket is scanned at check-in, the e-Ticket code is automatically marked as used and can not be reused.

Q5: Can I update my registration information?

A5: Yes.

Q6: Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

A6: It is recommended that you bring your printed e-Ticket to be scanned at check-in. This will facilitate the check-in process. Manual check-in is possible, but this will slow down the check-in process. If you have a smartphone, you can pull up your e-Ticket for check-in. The Eventbrite app is available for iPhone and for Android phones.

Q7: The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

A7: Your e-Ticket is your entry pass, so no problem.

Privacy: Your email will be kept private. We will not give it or sell it to anyone! Period!
