Event description

Join The Perpetual You for a weekend of connection to reawaken your soul and warm your spirit.

Explore the sensory gifts of intentional living through guided workshops on yoga, breathwork, creativity, meditation, and self-awareness. With the evocative seaside as your backdrop, you'll unearth the power of camaraderie while envisioning your year in a safe, sacred environment.

***The W.A.R.M.T.H. retreat is an intimate offering, available to ten women who want to begin their year with intention and bravery.***

  • Ceremony of Release - In this ceremony, we will explore the ideas, thoughts, and behaviors that no longer serve us. We will create a sacred practice for letting go and connecting with what we desire to draw in. We will offer our heavy energies back to the earth in ceremony and support each other as we create the foundation for change in change in our lives.
  • Dance Your Truth - This workshop is designed to help you access the physical sensation of truth in your body through shamanic journeying, guided breathwork, group and paired sharing, and collective witnessing. Part journey, part dance party, all truth. No dance experience needed, just a desire to express yourself and move.

  • Vision Board Creation - Vision boards act as a reminder of what your desires are, and bring awareness to the steps and actions that need to be taken in order to make strides toward your goals. A variety of materials will provide motivation and inspiration. *Please bring any personally meaningful photos, quotes, clippings, etc. in order to complete your vision board in a way that connects with you on a deeper level.
  • Self-Care Kit Workshop - By creating and decorating a self-care kit, we'll proclaim the significance of your personal rituals, and act a a welcome reminder and watchful guardian of the self-care you so deserve. Your self-care kit will be by your side throughout the rest of the retreat.

  • Guided Meditation - Experience the power of shared feminine energy as we set intentions for the new year. Through individually tailored visualizations and mantra, we will discover and connect to our deepest desires for 2019 and beyond.
  • Journaling Workshop - The practice of journal-writing deepens your relationship with yourself because it creates a safe and sacred space in which to explore new perspectives. By teaching you how to cultivate your unique writing voice, this intimate workshop will inspire self-reflection and create an opportunity for inner dialogue.
  • Free Range Moments - Through scheduled breaks, planned downtime, and an overall willingness to be flexible and forgiving, we'll encourage you to reflect and recharge all weekend long.

  • Breathe Into Forgiveness - Forgiveness is an intentional, voluntary, and powerful act. In this workshop, expect to connect to forgiveness on a deep level; participate in a short group Breathwork session; and, leave with a forgiveness practice that you can use in your life outside the workshop.
  • Sunrise Yoga - A warming practice to begin the first full day of the retreat. We will move through a series of gentle postures to shake the sleep from our muscles and joints, transitioning to a heart-opening flow. We will end with a guided relaxation before we move into the rest of our day with a glow.

  • Sacred Space Discussion / Book Talk - Sacred space is the room we give ourselves and others to be loved and accepted exactly as we are. In this session, we will discuss how to create sacred space with guidance from the healing guide, Little Waves A Tiny Memoir. (A copy of the book will be provided to all retreat attendees.)
  • Self-Care Talk - More than a buzzword, self-care is an integral part of living intentionally. Based on the needs of the group, we will discuss anything from specific, daily self-care practices to the larger reflection of why and when we deserve self-care.
  • Mentor Meetups - Each retreat mentor will offer to meet with two individuals at some point in the weekend. The topic of these meetings will be solely up to you! We encourage you to get to know our retreat mentors (see details below) to see which woman you'd like to get to know on a deeper level.

  • Restorative Yoga - This style of yoga balances the effort we experience in our day-to-day lives with ease in the body. We will focus on the connective tissue and releasing chronic tension in our muscles and joints. Seated and reclining postures will be utilized with the addition of props to support a deeper level of relaxation and comfort.
  • Community Time - Moments to congregate as a group will be the focus of our unscheduled time throughout the weekend.

***Offerings are flexible and may be tailored to fit the needs of the group***

Mercy by the Sea is a retreat center in Madison, CT that believes in the sacred nature of the individual and all of creation. Their lush, private grounds encourage individuals to listen into and trust the still inner voice. From that place deep longings, creative imagination, and fledgling efforts in service of a greater good can emerge and be nurtured.

Retreat participants will be housed in the private and intimate guest house, Seascape. Each woman will be sharing a room with one other woman; all rooms have an ocean view; some rooms share a bathroom. Please reach out directly if you have special needs that you would like accommodated.

Seascape has several common areas that are nurturing and comfortable. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be on hand in the Seascape kitchen and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and water. Please note that all main meals will be taken in Mercy by the Sea's communal dining room.

Privacy, intimacy, and comfort abound in Seascape, and on the general grounds of Mercy by the Sea. We encourage you to bring the items you need to make yourself comfortable (e.g. blanket, pillow, altar adornments) and to reach out with any questions or concerns. Upon registration, you will be sent a comprehensive list of what to bring for the weekend.

Our express wish is for you to receive enough comfort, warmth, and nourishment that you'll have a reserve to bring back with you. With that in mind, we've curated a space and a schedule that focuses on in-person, real-time experiences. Nature, too, will be an important part of our time together and we encourage you to bring clothing that will keep you warm and comfy.

While we don't expect you to "unplug" completely, we do request that you consider leaving your cares behind, as much as you are able, so that your inspiration won't be disrupted. Spend some time in the days before the retreat to ensure your children's needs will be met by someone loving and patient; your work responsibilities have been delegated or put on hold; and, other obligations are sufficiently "out of sight/out of mind."
