On January 17th, you can purchase tickets to Mr. Marina in support of Ward Sorrick HERE.

Ward Sorrick is a native Northern Californian who experienced first-hand the
importance of having financial support when a family member is sick. When Ward
was 10, his father had a bout with brain surgery to remove a tumor that was putting pressure on his brain and affecting his hearing and balance. He lost this fight and ended up in a coma for 3 months. Upon waking, he began a 13-year battle to regain his speech, mobility, and, most importantly, fatherhood. The financial support he had available allowed Ward and his younger brother to have a father for 13 more years. This experience inspires Ward to fundraise so that others can afford to fight their illnesses and spend more time with the ones they love.

When he’s not fundraising and getting ready for the Mr. Marina competition, Ward
studies Meisner technique at the Waterfront Conservatory and Playhouse in
Berkeley. He also produces short-form video content for the web, commercials,
and feature films. He loves spending time during the summer at his cabin at Echo
Lake where he gets to truly be a mountain man. He also enjoys the company of
his family and friends and is always ready to meet and learn about new people.

Nominated by the LLS’s 2013 Woman of the Year (who also happens to be his
coach), Ward is honored to be a contestant in this year’s Mr. Marina competition
and ready to put his pride, ego, and personal comfort aside to help raise money
and SLAP CANCER! Come be a part of the CharityWard campaign!
