FREE, ALL AGES

Local Sirens is a free, quarterly performance series featuring incredible local women musicians and performers. This time, Local Sirens will feature Bay Area favorites:

The She's - The She's have been playing together since elementary school. Their early music is a reflection of their social and musicallives colliding- coming out of a unique perspective for high school students having been tossed into the music industry at such a young age. Today, their songs develop into themes of nostalgia, the exploration of solitude, love, and heartache.

Try the Pie (solo set) - Try the Pie is a solo effort by San Jose based musician/writer/artist Bean Tupou. Their first full length record, "Domestication", was released on Salinas Records in Spring of 2015.

SOAR - "SOAR is a Bay Area DIY supergroup, and I don't mean this lightly. Every band that they have been a part of has and is amazing. Rebecca Redman, who will put "Drumming is Easy" on her gravestone, is also the behind Watercolor Paintings. Jenna Marx is behind Joyride!, who are working on a new album. Shannon Bodrogi is in Void Boys, who are not broken up but in hiding. Mai Oseto is in Dreamspoiler. Together they spoil us all and make SOAR."  Erika Delgado, The Bay Bridged

Spellling - "Berkeley singer-songwriter Spellling makes beautifully layered, experimental pop tracks using just her keyboard, voice, and loop pedal, weaving compositions that evoke avant-pop artists such as FKA Twigs and Björk. Her name evokes the spellbinding qualities of her music, as well as her witchy aesthetic."   Nastia Voynovskaya, East Bay Express

Come support and enjoy incredible local music and women artists - free admission! This is an all ages show.

Local Sirens is made possible through support from Zellerbach Family Foundation. Come spend your evening with WAM and enjoy free live music!

Women's Audio Mission

Women's Audio Mission is a San Francisco based, non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women in music production, professional audio and the recording arts. In a field where women are chronically under-represented (less than 5%), WAM seeks to "change the face of sound" by providing hands-on training, experience, career counseling and job placement to women and girls in music and media technology for music, radio, film, television and the internet. WAM believes that women's mastery of professional audio technology and inclusion in the production process will expand the vision and voice of media and popular culture.
