Join us for the launch of walkSTEM, a guided math walk through the Dallas Arts District created in partnership with the National Museum of Mathematics in New York. We will kick off our initiative with a Pi Day Math Festival at Sammons Park at the AT&T Performing Arts Center from 10am - 1pm. The festival will showcase the many ways in which math impacts our world - in art, in dance, in science and more. Exhibitors include the Dallas Zoo, Dallas Arboretum, Baylor Jane and Jack Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, John Bunker Sands Wetland Center and many more. There will also be select times available to tour the iconic Meyerson Symphony Center.
The walks are approximately 45 minutes in length and will leave every 15 minutes from the festival. These free walks are designed specifically to engage elementary and middle school-aged children and their families in learning how math is a relevant and dynamic part of our everyday surroundings. All ages welcome. Please register in advance to reserve your place.

walkSTEM experiences are FREE and are created and coordinated by the 501(c)3 organization talkSTEM. We raise funds for walkSTEM experiences through donations and grants. If you like your walkSTEM experience (and we hope you love it), please help us continue to run this program by supporting us with a donation. You can donate by writing a check or making an online donation. Click here to donate.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The walks are geared toward late elementary and middle school aged kids but everyone is welcome to attend. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please reserve a space for each person in your party as we want to keep walks to no more than 20 people so everyone can hear easily.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You can email us at email@example.com with any questions you may have.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not have to print your ticket as your name will be on a list. Check in at the walk table at the Pi Day Math Festival when you arrive.
What if my plans change and I cannot come?
Please let us know if your plans change as we organize our walkSTEM docents, who are busy professionals doing this work out of a passion for STEAM Education, based largely on the number of RSVPs we have.
