Walking Water Stories Along the Bristol River Frome
Sat, November 5, 2016, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM GMT
Come and stretch your legs, admire the river scenery and learn about the Bristol River Frome's history and wildlife. You will be encouraged to think about what happens when the river is high or low. We will walk and listen to watery tales of past and present about the river and local area with a children’s storyteller. You can share your own water stories. There will be opportunities along the way to find out more about what makes a healthy river. You can have a go at monitoring river species with experts on hand to help you. You'll learn about the future of the River Frome in a changing climate and learn about our wider use of water. What you can do to save water at home and to help plants, trees, wildlife in your community in times of water shortage?
This event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences which is hosting events across the UK. UWE is working with the Avon-Frome Partnership, the Rivers Trust and other local organisations to run the river walk.
