High Street Portsmouth

• The route begins at the Waterside ferry dock(see address and map above) at 10:30 am for a ferry ride over to High Street in Portsmouth. A one and a half mile stroll takes walkers through Old Towne as they learn the history behind some beautifully restored 18th and 19th century homes as well as Portsmouth's original town square on high street.

Old Town Portsmouth

• We catch the 12:15 pm pm ferry back to Norfolk and walk the river to Freemason and the Pagoda Garden. Then over the bridge at the Hauge to Christ & Saint Luke's Church.

Our route into Ghent was once used by trolley cars.

Stopping at the Chrysler Museum for the story behind and viewing of the Norfolk Mace. Which has been a prized symbol of Norfolk since 1754.

Then down Freemason Street for a stroll through the inside of the Myers and Willoughby houses.

The Myers House contains many of the family's possesions.

The entire route is a four mile walk with many stops, two boat rides and concludes around 2:30 pm.
