Description

Experience a new opera on the walk!

Rather sitting in the comfortable opera house chairs, you will be given headphones and led through the streets of Notting Hill. The mysetrious story of the opera will unfold, and you will become the main character of this quest. By following the guidance of willing and helpful, and escaping greedy and dangerous characters, you will finally reach your goal.

As you will wonder through the streets of Notting Hill, familiar sights will come to live through operatic arias, and musical scenes created by local people of the area. There and there, a familiar musical motifs of past local residents of Notting Hill will appear - a mesmerizing voice of Dusty Springfield, or simple brilliance of Clementi sonatina... and as a surprise, some live characters might meet you around the corner.

Welcome to the Walking Opera of Notting Hill!


Some practical details:

The walk is limited to a maximum of 20 people. The event is family friendly, but please be responsible for your own safety and safety of your children as you cross the streets. People with walking dissabilities are welcome, but we strongly advice you to contact the organiser more details. The duration of the opera is maximum 2 hours, but maximum walking time is 40min. Please dress appropriatelly for the weather.

The walk will start at Print Room At The Coronet, and will finish at the Kensington Gardens West Entrance.

The ticket includes complimentary pub drink during the walk!


Music and cast:

The exciting thing about the music - most of it is originally composed through the Voice Exploration Workshops with local residents. Follow us up if you wish to attend one yourself!

Music co-creator: Michael Idehall. Music created with and by: London Latvian choir and participants of Voice Exploration Workshops in Notting Hill.
