Event description
Stroll downtown on this guided tour and discover secret remnants of San Leandro's past - hiding in plain site.

About this Event

Beginning with the Gold Rush in 1849, the Spanish land grant cattle ranch of the Estudillo family was transformed into an American town. That transformation began in the area around San Leandro Plaza in downtown San Leandro. On this History Walk, we will stroll along E. 14th Street and discover remnants of San Leandro's past, see photos of the area and its changes over the years, and hear stories of the beginning of the town.

This is a slow walk over flat terrain with sidewalks. It will be led by Cindy Simons, author of Images of America: San Leandro.

$5 members / $10 nonmembers.

Advance ticket purchase required. Group size is limited.
