Where is the meeting point?

Question 2

Will there be any physical activity involved?

Along with time in the barn, we hope to spend part of the day in the woods and potentially off paths. You will be encouraged to work at a pace you feel comfortable with, however, please do get in touch with us to discuss any mobility issues so we adapt our plans accordingly.

Is this event accessible for wheelchair users?

Accepted Answer

The barn and car park are accessible for wheelchair users. There is also a tramper which can be booked in advance for navigating uneven areas of the site. Please contact us to discuss this, and let us know on the Participant Information form if you will be using a wheelchair on the day.

Can I bring children with me?

This event is for adults only. If we can support you with childcare arrangements on or offsite to enable you to join us, please get in touch by e-mailing jo@walkingforest.co.uk.

How do I get to Outwoods?

Accepted Answer

The active travel route for walking or cycling is the Bridleway from Loughborough to the Outwoods. Multiple buses heading for Ashby-de-la-Zouch go from the centre of Loughborough to The Priory - a pub on Namphampton Road, from which it is a 15 minute walk.  Loughborough also has a train station.

Is there a car park?

Yes. There is a car park at the Outwoods, open from 6am that costs £2 for the day.

Question 7

Will there be opportunities for lift sharing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we are keen to keep the carbon footprint for this event as low as possible, so if you are able to organise a lift share we encourage you to do so. If you need help coordinating this please let us know on the Participant Information Form, which will be sent to you after booking.

Question 8

Will food and drink be provided?

Yes, we will provide you with lunch on the day. Please make sure you tell us about any dietary requirements and allergies on the Participant Information Form, which will be sent to you after booking.

Are there toilets onsite

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is a public toilet block on site, and there are toilets in Olivia's Cafe.

What do I need to wear?

Accepted Answer

We will be spending as much of the day outdoors as the weather allows, so please ensure you wear warm, waterproof, and comfortable clothing and footwear that you're happy to walk in.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your own water bottle, and if you can a notebook and pen.

Is there phone reception and wifi?

Both phone reception and wifi are very poor so please plan ahead for this.

What if I sign up to attend and then can't come?

Please be aware numbers are very limited for this event and there will be a waiting list set up. If you book a ticket and are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as you possibly can so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.

What happens next?

Once you've booked a ticket, you will be sent a Participant Information Form to be filled in and returned to Walking Forest Producer, Jo Mackie by no later than Monday 2 June. You will then receive a final Welcome pack within a week of the event, confirming all the details for the day.
