Walk the 17 mile journey, or part thereof, from Channelkirk Church near Oxton in Upper Lauderdale, to Melrose. Experience the flora, fauna and views of this beautiful part of the world, while enjoying the camaraderie of old friends and new.

Tradition has it that the Church of Channelkirk is built on the site of the young shepherd, Cuthbert’s, spiritual revelation. This experience set him on his physical and metaphorical ‘walk of faith’, which culminated in his beatification. Firstly to Melrose Abbey, where he entered monastic life and then in his mid thirties, around 665, to Lindisfarne where he became Prior and then Bishop. He died, a hermit on one of the Farne Islands and is buried in Durham Cathedral.

Booking for the event is essential: Adult £15; Child £5; Family (4 people, maximum 2 adults) £30

You will travel by coach from Melrose, Lauder or Oxton to the start point at Channelkirk Church, and after registration, leave the Church at 9am.

Refreshment stops, dispensing free fruit and water refills and with toilets are provided along the route. Tea, coffee, and cake await you at the finish.
