Event description

Description

A walk around Croft Farm with artist and farmer Kate Genever and Georgina Barney, curator of the "impossible" Museum of Contemporary Farming, followed by a meal together.

We'll be thinking about improvisation on the farm; looking at sticks and string; talking about museums, collecting and beauty; enjoying spring lambs on the farm and sharing a hearty meal!

An opportunity to see behind the hedges, to learn more about Kate's practice, talk with farmers and artists interested in rurality and farming.

We can arrange transport from Stamford station: please let us know by emailing georginabarney@gmail.com if this is something you require.

Walk, Talk, Eat is part of a commission from the Museum of English Rural Life (The MERL) at the University of Reading for the 'Museum of the Intangible' project. Since September 2017 Kate Genever has been developing artwork on the theme of 'improvisation' in response to the question, 'What would you put in the Museum (of Contemporary Farming)?' The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Arts Council England.
