Description
Join us for a guided introduction and tour of the woodland area of Pennypack on the Delaware Park. Experts will teach us about the biology of the park as well as how to be good stewards of the land. This event is part of the state-wide effort: Walk in Penn's Woods.
We are proud to be working with partners: Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, Friends of Pennypack Park in hosting the following activities:
-Nature Hike Through Forest Restoration and Shoreline Projects
-Trail Maintenance
-Native Insect Identification
-Bird Watching
This October, rural, urban and suburban woods, state and national forests and parks, municipal watersheds, conserved areas, private lands and industry in the state’s 67 counties will hold open houses and guided woods walks showcasing the multiple values and diverse uses of our state’s priceless forest resources.
This event is FREE and open to ALL AGES
***MEET AT THE START/SOUTH END OF THE PARKING LOT AT PENNYPACK ON THE DELAWARE. (entrance to park at the intersection of Pennypack Path and State Road - near Rhawn Street).
