Walk A Mile-Chippewa Valley
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, you are invited to participate in the third-annual Walk A Mile Chippewa Valley event on Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 at noon at the Pine Pavilion in Carson Park!
Walk A Mile In Her Shoes is an international men’s march to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. Walk A Mile-Chippewa Valley is expanding this mission by encouraging people of all genders, ages, and walks of life to participate in a one-mile walk to raise awareness and show support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
This event is being held in collaboration with Family Support Center, Bridge to Hope, Bolton Refuge House, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women’s and LGBTQ Resource Center. Together, these agencies served over 2,500 survivors of violence in 2015. All proceeds from the event will benefit these local anti-violence programs that support victim/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Registration opens on September 1st. Register before October 1st to receive a free T-shirt at the event (while supplies last).
Pre-registration is suggested for this event, and you can do so here on Eventbrite! Pre-registration is $20 for adults and $10 for students. Youth under the age of 14 who are participating in the event with an adult are free.
