Today in Orange County, things seem normal, even idyllic. Don’t be fooled. In a year, in a month, in a week, we could be refugees. We are living in a global climate emergency, and it’s time to start acting like it.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Andy Shrader is Director of Environmental Affairs, Water Policy & Sustainability for Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz. He has been integrally involved in Councilmember Koretz's efforts to ban plastic bags, move the City beyond coal power, implement the City’s United Nations' award-winning Good Food Purchasing Policy, close down the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, establish the City Council’s climate emission reduction goals, initiate the City's groundbreaking biodiversity index effort, retire the Scattergood, Haynes, and Harbor coastal natural gas power plants, and launch the creation of the world's first Climate Emergency Mobilization Department, guided by the principles of equity, environmental justice, a just transition and a Green New Deal.
