Have you ever experienced the smoothness of a sea turtle shell or the bumps on a Nile Crocodile's back? Jesse Rothacker provides lots of opportunity for hands-on fun in his reptile show. In addition to the live animals, they bring along many touchable items that are on loan to them through the US Fish and Wildlife Service. These items include real shells, eggs, and skins from many exotic reptiles. The touch table will provide hands-on fun for all ages!
They will arrive at the library in style, driving their GMC Savana service van, more affectionately known as the Super Green Turtle Machine. Lots of kids (and grownups) love taking "thumbs up" photos with the Super Green Turtle Machine, and posting them to social media with the hashtag #GiveReptilesAChance, for a chance to win cool prizes.
Forgotten Friends are licensed to transport exotic animals through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and permitted to exhibit native protected species through the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. They use educational materials on loan from the US Fish and Wildlife service, as well.
Forgotten Friends have performed more than 1,000 animal shows for audiences of all ages. Jesse Rothacker is the founder and president of Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary, a founder and board member of the Lancaster Herpetological Society, a featured animal expert on ABC 27's Good Day PA and BRC News 11, and the Critter Correspondent for the Kids Cookie Break radio program on WJTL 90.3. He is an animal professional who loves kids, families, and live events. His program has been featured at the governor's mansion, for the U.S. Congress, with Jay Leno, and many other venues both big and small.
