WAIT LIST Get on the Bus! NC Triad to Women's March on Washington
We are a grassroots group of people who've come together to make these buses available.
We see this as more than "just" transportation to the March.
We'll have a pre-event pot luck sign-making party, activities on the bus and more. Our goal is to build our (that includes you) 2 buses into a community of connected and supportive people. We are still working out the departure place(s), but it will be somewhere in the Winston Salem/Greensboro area.
When you sign up, because of the contract conditions with the charter company, all tickets are non-refundable. We want this to be a transparent process, so if you have questions about pricing or would like to see the contract, please contact the organziners. We will be glad to share that information.
Please note that departure times and return times may change. We will notify you right away of any changes.
If we raise more money than is needed for the buses, then the riders will vote on identified causes to donate the excess funding. We will take the vote on the bus on the way home. After all bills are paid, we will disperse left over funds to the winning causes.
Our common goal is to make our voices heard by attending the Women's March on Washington on Saturday, January 21st, 2017.
All attendees will be considered volunteers and working for the common welfare of the group.
We will participate in a buddy system so that no one gets “lost” and that everyone is looking after one another.
All adult riders will sign a liability waiver which will be provided. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
There is no smoking on or near the bus. Please avoid wearing perfume or scents of any kind (even all natural) to protect the air quality of your fellow riders who may be sensitive to scents. Please know that scents (even natural ones) can trigger asthma, migraines and problems for your fellow riders and negatively impact their experience.
The estimated travel time will be about 6.5 hours to DC. Bring warm clothes, good warm walking shoes, and food/water. Dress in warm layers that you can peel off if the bus is warm. Wool or a quick dry layer will keep you more comfortable. Protect your neck, ears, and head. Maybe bring extra socks. This event will be rain, snow or shine. Be prepared.
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the terms of the trip above, in the FAQs and on the purchase page. The organizers are simply facilitators. We are not responsible for circumstances beyond our control. (We have to say that for our protection!)
We are going to ROCK DC!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? - We are working on the pick up locations now. It will be in the Winston Salem/Greensboro area. We will have permission to leave cars. Please do not leave valuables in your car and lock it.
Is there a restroom on the bus? - Yes! (Thank goodness!)
What can I bring into the event? - Bring what you need for a long day trip and march. (Sorry, no alcohol allowed on the bus). Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
How is this affiliated with the Womens March on Washington? - We are a group of people who have come together to help make sure there is transportation to the March. While we have been in discussions with the March organizer on the NC State level, these buses are not directly affiliated with the March. If the March is cancelled or postponed for any reason, we cannot make a promise that we can refund the ticket price because of the contract with the bus company. We will work to reschedule or otherwise resolve any problems.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions? - You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org
What's the refund policy? - The tickets are non-refundable; however, you may transfer your ticket up to 3 days prior to depature. Please contact the organizers if you wish to transfer your ticket. Please know that the march organizers themselves have not fully buttoned up details for the march. Itineray may change.
If you collect more money than is needed to pay for the buses, what will you do with the extra money? - All funding raised above the needed amount for the trip will be donated to causes aligned with why in the heck we're going to DC in the first place. All riders will have a vote on the non-profits which will receive those funds.
