Registration: 8:15 am

Target Audience: Site Administrators, General Ed Teachers, Special Ed Teachers, School Psychologists, Speech Pathologists & Paraprofessionals

Presenter: Kathy Futterman, MA, ET/P - CSUEB Lecturer & Supervisor

Registration fee: $35 CCSELPA participant; $50 Outside CCSELPA participant

Final workshop of a three-part series on Dyslexia.  Each workshop requires separate registration and fee.

“Structured Literacy” is effective instruction that is explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, comprehensive, and cumulative. This training will review various “Structured Literacy” approaches for reading and language instruction along with the benefits of each program.  The ultimate goal of “Structured Literacy” is the development of accurate and fluent reading skills, reading comprehension for both expository and narrative texts, as well as increased oral and written expression.

*There is a nominal online processing fee applied to payments made by credit card. You may register directly through www.ccselpa.org and pay by check or purchase order to avoid this cost.

In order to receive the CCSELPA registration rate, you must work for, with or within one of the Contra Costa SELPA member LEAs:  Acalanes, Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Canyon, Contra Costa County Office of Education, John Swett, Knightsen, Lafayette, Liberty, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek. 

Workshops may reach capacity early or be cancelled due to a lack of registration. Please register early to guarantee your spot.

Registration deadlines are generally one week in advance of the event date. Although our wish is to accommodate all those who care to attend, space and materials may not be available for those who register after a workshop's deadline. Please check event flyers for specific registration details.

If the workshop is cancelled by Contra Costa SELPA, enrollees will be notified in advance and will obtain a full refund. Seventy-two hour cancellation notice by the partcipant is required to receive a refund of event fees, unless otherwise noted; substitutions are welcome, please call in advance.

Contra Costa Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) includes the following sixteen Local Education Agencies (LEA) in Contra Costa County:

 

Acalanes, Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Canyon, Contra Costa County Office of Education, John Swett, Knightsen, Lafayette, Liberty, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek.

 

The members join together to adopt a Local Plan in accordance with California Education Code to assure access to special education and services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing in the geographic area served by these LEAs.
