Event description
Remove invasive species, pack out rubbish and perform other tasks to help restore native ecosystems and traditional Hawaiian agriculture.

About this event

Join North Shore Community Land Trust every fourth Saturday in our effort to restore native ecosystems and traditional Hawaiian agriculture at Waialeʻe, Oʻahu. Activities may include removing invasive weeds, packing out rubbish, planting, and performing other tasks suitable for a variety of ages and skill levels. We will begin work at 9 a.m. and wrap up by noon.

Our meeting spot does not have a well-established address, but you should be able to find us on most map apps by copying and pasting these coordinates into the search bar: 21.6851 -158.0283. Coming from either direction on Kamehameha Hwy., turn ma kai (toward the ocean) onto a gravel road. Around 100 yards down that gravel road, our parking area will be on the right-hand side, near a pink barn structure.

COVID Protocol: The group size will be limited to comply with current City & State guidelines. Work will be done outside with the opportunity to social distance. Please note that masks are not currently required under updated State mask mandate guidelines, but you are always welcome to wear one if you prefer.

Please remember to bring:

  • A reusable water bottle with a minimum of 2 liters of water (please note: due to COVID-19 we will not be able to provide water refills).
  • Reef-safe sun protection
  • Bug repellent if needed, or long sleeves and pants
  • Closed-toed shoes recommended
  • Your own gloves and weeding tools if you prefer (we will also provide clean gloves and tools)

We hope you will join us for this opportunity to mālama this special place!
