Schedule

9:15 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
None of the Above: Having No Religion in Canada
Religious nones, those who say they have no religion, represent one-quarter of Canadian adults and one-third of teens and young adults in Canada. Drawing on recent Canadian data, we will explore who they are, why they have grown, how they view the world and religion, and where they are going.

10:45 a.m. - 12 Noon
Evangelism in Canada: From the Pulpit to the Pew
How do Canadians – from the pulpits to the pews to society at large – think about, practice, and respond to evangelism (and evangelicals) today? Further, what proportion of those in the pews could be considered converts, and what do those findings tell us about Canadian congregations and society?

12 Noon - 1 p.m.
Lunch

1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Flourishing Congregations in Canada: Signs of Life and Vitality
What can we learn from Canadian congregations where there are signs of religious life and vitality? What traits might we associate with a flourishing congregation, and what sets some congregations apart from others? This session will focus on national interview, focus group, and survey reseach with Canadian church leaders and congregants around organizational ethos, internal dimensions, and outward dimensions.
