Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

This traveling exhibition celebrates the effectiveness of nonviolence to promote lasting peace with justice. It tells the story of The American Friends Service Committee, using the provocative stories of those who fought against injustice and those who have been helped in the fight in the last century. The exhibit addresses struggles of our own day: Building Peace, Ending Discrimination, Mass Incarceration, Just Economies, and Immigrant Rights. Be inspired.

Join us at the opening reception of the exhibit on October 2nd to interact with Judy Asselin, the granddaughter of AFSC’s first Director, and other supporters who have made this history possible!

The West University Graduate School of Social Work, in collaboration with the Peace and Conflict Studies Program, will host a week-long gallery exhibition (10/2 to 10/6) featuring stories of AFSC programs that have helped create opportunities for communities striving to prevent violence and overcome oppression.

See what love can do.

Materials for family visits available.
