Event description
Make a gorgeous Wabi-Sabi (Japanese for 'imperfect beauty') knitted chunky throw using Mammoth yarn and your arms for needles!

About this Event

On this two hour workshop with Lucy May of This or Die, you will learn how to make a gorgeously soft, squishy and instagram-worthy blanket which can be used as a fabulous sofa throw or bed runner. Using super chunky Mammoth yarn from Woolly Mahoosive, and your arms as needles your will be pleasantly suprised just how quickly and easily you can knit your blanket up with no previous knitting experience needed!

Why Wabi-Sabi? Well, Wabi-Sabi is the Japanese term for "imperfect beauty" and we will be knitting our blankets with imperfect balls of mammoth yarn which have a slightly creased finish (becuase they have come from the centre of a big bale) and weigh just under the usual 2kg. As you can see from the example photos, the finished throw is still beautiful - just a tiny bit shorter and with a little crimp to the yarn. What it does mean is that I can offer this workshop for half the price of my standard arm knitting workshops, yippee!!

Colours will be allocated on a random basis from the following selection of gorgeous pastel shades (but I'll try to accomodate preferences if I can): light teal, dove grey, pink, mustard, silver, sky blue.

This workshop will be held in my brand new cosy studio space at my home in Wellingborough with delicious tea and cake included! Numbers are strictly limited to five people for this workshop.
