Event Details

For this 3rd seminar, Vulca has 2 objectives to achieve : to encourage the makers/hackers mobility and to study & document this mobility

Vulca wants to be in the heart of the makers movement.

That's why, this year we decide to organize our meeting in collaboration with Zaklad Makerspace which will host at the same time the polish Makers, Hackers, Fabbers network for their yearly meeting.

For our 3rd seminar, Vulca has 2 objectives to achieve with 2 specific groups :

With makers, hackers and spaces : we want to encourage the makers / hackers mobility in Europe.

2019 begins with twelve mobility experiences throughout Europe. We want to support each space to launch as many experiences as possible. After visiting 250 communities, we have come to the conclusion that European Makers’ Mobility is possible, but not without its difficulties. That's why Vulca wants to gather all the people driving this mobility to discuss how to facilitate this mobility. All the panellists that we will bring together, and all the workshops that we will organise, will aim to create an opensource mobility guide for maker(space).

With researchers : we want to study and document the impact of Makers’ / Hackers’ mobility through Europe.

To convince the European Parliament to support the European Makers / Hackers Mobilty, we need to have precise documentation. In Europe, the Maker / Hacker Mobility exists, but there is no one to measure and enhance its impact. That is why Vulca wants to start a conversation on the impact of mobility with a panel of researchers, Makers and Hackers. Whether you are a geographer, an urbanist, a sociologist, an anthropologist, an economist, or any other kind of scientist, you are welcome to join the discussion on the impact of the mobility of Makers / Hackers.
