For December we have two events to get you in the holiday cheer. Lucky you.
We will be back with The Salvation Army (400 E 29th St, Baltimore) at one of our most popular and festive events of the year. One hundred of you will be sorting through the numerous toys that community members have donated to The Salvation Army for families who would not otherwise have gifts under their tree. We will sort toys and clothes into family boxes, based on each child's wish list for Santa. In summary, you're going to join VU to act as Santa's elves for the afternoon-while dressed the part! If you haven't joined us for this one before, check out the article Baltimore Magazine wrote about us two years ago when they came to check out the event themselves.
We'll also be at Walter P Carter Elementary/Middle School (820 E 43rd St, Baltimore) and we'll be doing a little holiday everything. Fifty of you will be making murals, creating a literacy and math room, making holiday decorations for the Believe in Tomorrow's Children house, and more. You get to be festively creative and likely play with glitter. Nice.
Immediately following the event, we will walk around the corner to Peabody Heights Brewery (401 E 30th St) for local brews. $1 off all beer! Grub will be provided by Well Crafted Pizza, named the Best Food Truck on The Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore list in 2016. And don't worry, we will be sure to get everyone into the holiday spirit with our annual costume contest, so be sure to wear your ugliest sweater or best elf ensamble!
