About this Event

Course Description:

Anyone that encounters children should attend this training. Sentinel injuries, and how they are directly related to SBS/AHT, will be explored. Simple, easy to remember, tools will be taught to attendees on how to determine the likelihood of inflicted injury versus accidental. Suggested for adult audiences only due to graphic images. Free, 1 ½ hour training.

Course Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

• Define sentinel injury

• Describe the relationship between sentinel injuries and SBS/AHT

• List the T-E-N-4 rule of evaluating injuries

• List the T-E-N-4 FACES rule of evaluating injuries

• Demonstrate how to ask suspected victims open-ended questions

• Explain the importance of recognizing sentinel injuries
