Urinalysis Wet Lab
This comprehensive review on urinalysis will discuss acquisition and processing of samples for in-house evaluation, as well as factors that can affect accuracy of results. The lecture will include an in depth discussion on assessing urine concentration (including osmolality and specific gravity), urine electrolytes, and interpretation of dipstick results supported by published literature. An interactive case based session will follow that will focus on microscopic evaluation of urine sediment, including classification of crystals, casts and organisms, and their clinical significance.
