Come experience #TheNextEvolution in immersive technology!

About this event

Details:

The design of a product can define the trajectory of its success. Immersive technologies designers can manipulate 3D renderings in minutes, easily collaborate with people across the globe, and have the ability to interact with the design at scale. Many softwares share files over the cloud and can easily transfer information between different devices for editing convenience.

Through augmented reality and virtual reality, one can test different attributes of a new design prior to spending the money on a tangible prototype. In this way, initial user experience can also be simulated. This digital prototyping and virtual product testing can save money and offer new forms of understanding how it may or may not work from a product to human perspective.

Join us on July 7th as we hear from experts using emerging and innovative technology for producing The Next Evolution of Product Design.

What's The Format:

We will be using Virbela's Open Campus to host the program. We suggest that you download, set-up, get familiar with the Virbela program (virbela.com/download) and environment prior to the program, as we will be unable to provide support during the event. The event will also streamed on Facebook.com/VRARChicago (facebook.com/VRARChicago/live_videos/).

The virtual environment resembles a physical space, so you will be able to talk with other attendees during open networking both before and after the presentations. The sound is spatialized, so if at any point it feels too loud, feel free to move your conversation to another part of the room where there are less people.

We begin with informal networking and then start the stage portion promptly at 6:15pm CDT. There will be a handful of presentations before we move on to answer audience questions and then finish with more networking. We keep it simple and informal - this MeetUp is about you, our members, and not the host or presenters. Come and get your questions answered, take your next step into immersive technology.

About Our Panelists' Companies:

TechViz is a software editor specializing in VR and AR solutions for engineering since 2004. It has developed a unique technology to display and collaborate in real time directly from more than 200 applications.

Gravity Sketch is an intuitive 3D design platform for cross-disciplinary teams to create, collaborate, and review in the most natural way, spatially. With both VR and tablet apps, Gravity Sketch is used by design professionals across automotive, footwear, industrial design, and media & entertainment industries as part of their design workflows.

Spatial turns your room into a monitor while using your hands to work, search, brainstorm, and share information. In VR, AR, and from your phone or computer, you will feel as if you were in the same room, even when you’re miles apart.

Organizer VR/AR Chicago

Organizer of VRAR Chicago: The Next Evolution of Product Design

VR/AR Chicago brings together people who are interested in working with virtual and augmented reality technology. The group includes developers, business leaders, investors, students, and more. Many of our members are actively working with VR and AR technology here in Chicago - providing consulting, business development, and technology development services. What makes us different from other groups is that we are not just interested in seeing what's out there, we are actively producing, promoting, and demonstrating VR and AR technology in our businesses and community.
