Eight-week mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) workshop for physicians

About this Event

Interested in improved self-care and resilience? Looking to reduce burnout and exhaustion? Mindfulness may be part of the answer and provide you with the ability to give yourself and your patients better care.

Learn specific skills to foster resilience and reduce the risk of burnout. MBCT, an integration of mindfulness meditation practices and elements of cognitive therapy, offers a different way to encounter and identify habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour that can lead to overwork and stress. Development of specific burnout prevention strategies is included in the later stages of the program

Join Dr. Andrea Grabovac MD, FRCPC and Mark Lau, PhD, Psych for this eight-week MBCT workshop. Both facilitators are internationally respected mindfulness trainers eager to share their insights with you.

Wednesdays: October 16, 23, 30, November 6, 13, 20, 27, and December 11

6 - 9 pm (networking dinner provided)

All-day session: Saturday, November 23

9 am – 4 pm (networking lunch provided)

Location: VGH Paetzold Multipurpose Room and the VGH Physician Hub for Engagement and Wellness

Cost: $875 for VPSA physicians
