Event Details

Ever wondered what goes behind great products like Google, Spotify and YouTube?

Join us for a session with Shiva Rajaraman, a product guru who has worked as:

- VP of Product at Spotify
- Director of Product Management at Google
- Senior Product Manager at Twitter
- Senior Product Manager at YouTube

He's learned what it take to build amazing products and how to get your foot in the door.

Shiva will discuss what it’s like to work in this dynamic role and you’ll also get the inside scoop on the day-to-day work as a PM, the challenges of the job and personal insight from Shiva's experience.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand your community and relish their randomness. That culture is your biggest asset.
  • Don't just build features, build capabilities. Then point those capabilities at new problems.
  • Understand the underlying need and then "hack the full stack" to solve it
  • You aren't just a product, you are an ecosystem. Cultivate your supply and demand sides.

Meet your speaker: Shiva Rajaraman

Shiva has a strong record of building products and teams at YouTube, Google, and most recently Spotify where he led the consumer product organization. Earlier in his career, he worked in enterprise analytics helping to solve problems for media and retail companies and is especially to excited to see data increasingly democratized and applied towards solving some of the world's most pressing problems especially healthcare and education.

Back in the day, he honed his chops in a few startups ranging from gaming to public sector procurement. Putting it all together he enjoys it most when companies create new ecosystems not just utilities, helping people do things that otherwise would be impossible. He holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a Master's from Wharton. Most importantly he's a loyal follower of cat memes which he's found can express every human emotion with more color and care than anyone expected
