Volunteers Needed: Help Prep Food for Those in Need!

Help many San Francisco neighbors in need! Food Runners makes fresh meals for those affected by food insecurity. Each volunteer event includes assembling wraps/sandwiches/salads, chopping and prepping ingredients, organizing donated goods, packing meals, and assisting with cleanup.

Each day, there are three two-hour shifts:

9 a.m.-11 a.m.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.

1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

This volunteer opportunity is overseen by Food Runners, a San Francisco nonprofit that helps alleviate hunger and food waste. Food Runners is currently delivering over 17 tons of food a week that would otherwise be thrown away. With help from our volunteer coordinator, our paid truck driver and people like you, we can provide enough food for over 20,000 meals every week in San Francisco. Learn more at foodrunners.org

Volunteer duties change daily based on the kitchen’s needs as they plan and iron-chef donated ingredients. Volunteers must show proof of vaccination and booster upon arrival or they can email Tessa directly in advance tessa@foodrunners.org.
