We need volunteers for our upcoming back-to-school event in Bloomington!
About this event
On Saturday July 23rd, we will be handing out groceries, backpacks and school supplies to families and their children at the Bloomington Community Health Center in Bloomington, CA. Volunteers will assist with filling backpacks with school supplies and setting up the event, as well as getting backpacks to kids and groceries to their families in the cars as they drive through.
The distribution event will take place 9am to 12pm.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I arrive at the event? Please arrive 15 min prior to your scheduled shift time in order to park and make your way to the volunteer check-in
What is the minimum age to volunteer? You must be at least 14 years of age accompanied by an adult chaperone to volunteer for Project Boon. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Do I have to wear a mask? If preferred ll volunteers can wear a mask. This event will be outdoors and so we encourage you to do whatever you are most comfortable with. We will have disposable masks if you do not bring your own.
Do I need to sign up to volunteer ahead of time? Yes. Time slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. We will not add additional shifts once spots fill up.
Are there other ways I can support Project Boon? Yes. We gladly accept new, unwrapped school supplies, canned food or monetary donations. If you would like to make a financial donation, please click here.
